THE SPHERE OF OZ

The sphere of OZ is the concept of a point and a line materialized in the form of a tool.
In 1975 and then again in 1997 I have set out to build a prototype of a human habitat in the form of a geodesic sphere that is mass producible yet fully customizable during the initial manufacture, can be infinitely altered and accessorized after its on site installation or disassembled, transported to and installed at a different location.
2012 – 2013 I have conceived and designed the sphere of OZ, a tool whose qualities originate from its adherence to the concept on which it is founded, the concept of a point and a line. It comprises hollow spherical forms/points, round tubes whose ends are internally threaded/lines and hollow screws.
True to the concept of a point and a line the spherical forms and the tubes can be interconnected omnidirectionally to create structures and forms that will be held together with the hollow screws. The sphere of OZ reflects my philosophy that is formed on my understanding of and coming to terms with concepts, absolutes and myself. My current design of a human habitat in the form of a geodesic sphere is based on the sphere of OZ and it fulfills in every respect the requirements I have set out to accomplish in 1980 and 1997.
The adaptation of a geodesic sphere based on the sphere of OZ for a human habitat is only one among virtually an infinite number of applications for a geodesic sphere. A geodesic sphere is only one among virtually an infinite number of applications for the sphere of OZ.
Applications such as: infrastructure, machinery, permanent dwellings at the seas, the construction of buildings and structures in remote or difficult to access locations, harsh environment and extreme climate, solar energy generation, wind turbine mast, open water and urban aquaculture and agriculture, sea and space exploration and installations.
